New 12 megapixel D90 digital SLR from Nikon gets HD video capture

Made official today, Nikon announced its latest DSLR the 12.3-megapixel sensored D90.  Not much has changed from the rumors that swirled prior to its offical announcement including a large 3-inch LCD display, Live View, video capture, EXPEED image processing, and HDMI connectivity.

The new digital shooter officially offers:

  • 3-inch 920k resolution display
  • 11 point AF
  • EXPEED image processing
  • AF-S Nikkor 18-105 VR image stabilization lens
  • 4.5fps
  • ISO 200-3200
  • Live View mode
  • Scene Recogition System and Face Detection
  • HD movie clips at 1280 x 720 resolution (24fps)
  • HDMI port
  • Li-Ion battery (up to 850 shots)

The Nikon D90 body will be available for US$999.95 and US$1299.95 for the full kit that includes the new 18-105mm VR lens.  The D90 hits shelves in September.
