New EOS 50D digital SLR from Cannon
Cannon has just announced a new high-end compact camera, the EOS 50D, as a replacement for the EOS 5D full-frame professional DSLR. As one would expect, the new camera is striking. With a body work carved out of magnesium alloy and sealed to perfection, this camera is built to last against everything your environment cant through at it.
Sporting a brand new 15.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, the amount of light this puppy can capture is remarkably increased. This will improve ISO performance, which is expandable to an ultra-sensitive 12800. The camera is pretty nippy too, since it comes packin’ the high speed DIGIC 4 processor. For example, it can do a continuous shoot of 6.3 frames per second, or even smack out 90 frames when set to JPEG mode.
We can also look forward to previewing our work on the wide angle 3.0-inch VGA monitor. It is also well connected too, offering a HDMI port for connection to a HD TV. The camera will even clean its own sensor which, incidentally, has a new fluorine coating to scare away the dust particles.
You can expect to get your hands on one of these in September for around £1200 ($2400) for the body, or add an extra £300 ($600) for a kit with a lens.
