New September iPod rumours

Potential 4GB Nano

Potential 4GB Nano

It’s around the time that Apple is famous for unveiling its new range of iPods. Given that we are now just a few days away from September, we thought we would bring you up to speed on the iPod rumours that are hitting the digital highway.

Apparently, the word on the street is that the fourth generation of the 4GB iPod Nano will convert back to its more traditional lengthy style and away from the box shape that many of us have become used to over the last 12 months. The main reason for this is attributed to the fact that the the Nano will have a larger widescreen display, capable of showing video in landscape. This would be a substantial step forward for the Nano, all things considered.

In other iPod news, the Touch should expect a design makeover to put it more in line with the latest version of the iPhone. However, it is reputed that we shall not be seeing the 64GB version many have dreamed of for so long. To make up for this, it is expected that we shall see price cuts across the entire range in order to compensate and distance the iPod products from the iPhone.

The cherry on the cake comes in the form of software, with a firm-ware update and a new and improved iTunes 8.0 with enhanced functionality. With all of this said and published, much of the information that is floating around stems from Kevin Rose, the original guy who started Digg. As such, we will be happy if even 50% of this is true (given his past record).
