New USB HUB for your car
Every once-in-a-while, DigitalBurn comes across a gadget that is truly ingenious. Behold, not so long ago we wrote about Juicebars, which were warmly received by our readers, and were genuinely a great idea. Now the in-car USB HUB may not be so unique, but it is certainly practical. Entitled the ‘Car Charger with 4 USB Ports and 1 Cigarette Socket’, this device does exactly what it says on the box. A gadget that you plug into the cigarette socket of your favourite low-rider, and BAM, you can charge up to 4 USB items at once, while taking a smoke*. Now why didn’t we think of that?
With no need for any wires or batteries, the only thing this gadget needs is a 2000mA output lighter socket. Form here, you will be able to charge your iPod (and most MP3 players), GPS units, phone, camera, PDA, etc. Costing only $22.99, you can pick up the white version of this device already, or wait for the blacker version, which is available in mid-September. Alternatives on this theme are also available, with one port, two port and no lighter options on show.
