Upcoming Logitech V550 for notebooks: Clip and Go

Logitech have the input market on lockdown, as demonstrated by their dominance in virtually every peripheral known to man, ranging from mice through to steering wheels. The new V550 looks to expand their grip on the mobile computing market, and fill up any space not already taken by their VX Nano.

The ‘sell-factor’ for the V550 is quite simple. When it is your turn to go up and at ‘em for a meeting or a presentation, why struggle to carry your laptop and your mouse when you can just carry the one and have the other come along free. Gone are the days when you had to balance your mouse on the laptop lid while you meander your way across the office building carrying you coffee in your free hand.

The inclusion of the ‘Clip and Go’ dock basically means you attach your mouse to your notebook, and it is safely secure and ready to roll with you to wherever you need be. Included in the set-up is a USB dongle so small, you won’t even know it’s there. This is what provides the wireless facilities of any laptop mouse. Battery life is not too bad either, offering up to 18 months of usage. Crazy. The V550 is not all that cheap however, costing you £49.99 MSRP (~$100), but is probably totally worth it. Clip and go baby, clip and go.
