Kwiry (”query”) has announced a new handy service that allows users to send text messages to themselves as reminders. For example, ever been out and about and needed to remember a book you want to read or DVD you want to rent - enter Kwiry.

Kwiry offers a free service that lets you retrieve reminders online that were sent via SMS. After creating an online account with the company, you then can send messages direct to 59479 (kwiry) where the data is housed on your own private kwiry page.

kwiry has recently added some shortcuts that make the service even more attractive. The enhancements include shortcuts to Netflix and Amazon.com as well as adding appointments directly to your online calendar and to-do list. For example, when you want to add a new movie to your Netflix queue simply create the kwiry text message and type in “netflix” followed by the name of the movie. The movie will be automatically added to your Netflix account.
