Dell launches new Latitude E series laptops
Dell introduced a new Latitude E series lineup of notebooks, which are all powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 processors. The seven new models offer optional backlit keyboards, SSD hard drives up to 64GB, personalized color options, fingerprint readers, and a plethora of connectivity options including 802.11n WiFi, WiMAX, and wireless broadband. Dell is also offering optional 12-cell batteries to extend your time away from the wall. The new 12-cell battery offers up to 19 hours of work time.
The new lineup breaks down like this:
Ultra-portable
- E4200 - 12.1-inch, 2.2 pounds
- E4300 - 13.3-inch, 3.3 pounds
Mainstream
- E6400 - US$1139.00
- E6500 - US$1169.00
Essential
- E5400 - 14.1-inch, US$839.00
- E5500 - 15.4-inch, US$869.00
Semi-rugged
- E6400 ATG (all terrrian grade) - 14.1-inch, US$2399.00
The Mainstream Latitude E6400 and E6500 and Essential Latitude E5400 and E5500 laptops are expected to be available right away along with the rugged E6400. The ultra-portables are expected be available next month.
