Upcoming VIXIA camcorders from Canon: HF11, HG21 and HG20
Canon, known for its expertise in still and moving imagery, has announced three new camcorders, designated the VIXIA HF11, VIXIA HG21 and VIXIA HG20. The HF11 is a dual flash memory camcorder, while the HG21 and HG20 are Hard Disk Drive camcorders.
This family of camcorders all offer 24Mbps bit rate recording, which will afford much higher quality images and “improved reproduction of moving subjects”. The HF11 will offer 12 hours of High-Definition video, and if that isn’t enough, you can record to a removable SDHC card. On the other hand, the two hard disk drive camcorders, HG21 & HG20, come in 120GB and 60GB, respectively, providing 45 or 22 hours of HD video. If you need, you can still record directly to the SDHC card as well. All the cameras record at Full HD (1920 x 1080), provide instant autofocus and SuperRange optical image stabilization. It seems with these cameras, there really is no excuse not to take good shots.
The three cameras are due to land in September. The HF11, HG21 and HG20 will hit you for $1199, $1299, and $949, respectively, but it is possible that you might be able to pick them up cheaper than the suggested selling prices if you look carefully online.
