Upcoming SSD devices to match OCZ and Ridata

Mtron Affordable SSD Option

Hot on the heels of the latest SSD news, DigitalBurn.com is happy to announce another company stepping up to the plate with an economically viable home SSD option. Following suit with OCZ and Ridata, this time it is Mtron who are doing the business, with their new ‘MTFDBAC256MAE-1C1‘ and ‘MTFDBAA128MAE-1C1‘. Slightly hard to say, and worse to remember, the two now drives come in up to 2.5in 256GB and 1.8in 128GB form factors and storage sizes respectfully. Based on ‘multi-level cell’ technology, we have been assured that the cost of these new drives will be exceptionally reasonably priced.

The devices are fast too, just like those offered by OCZ and Ridata. They tout an extraordinary 100 MBps (megabytes per second) write times and 250MBps read. Access times were not offered up, but we should expect them to be pretty nippy. Mass production of these drives is starting in late September, while samples are already available.

All we are left wondering is who will be next to announce an affordable SSD offering.
