New Wicked Lasers Sonar II laser pointer
Every now and then we get an urge to write about an arguably pointless gadget that is just too cool to pass up. With that said, up steps the Sonar II by Wicked Lasers. The Sonar II is a laser pointing device that will set you back around $1,999. It sports a Blu-ray laser exactly the same as that offered by the PS3, or, in fact, any other Blu-ray player you can mention.
Powered by a pair of CR123A batteries, similar to those used in many cameras, the casing for the laser pointer is made of aircraft grade aluminium and measures up at 155mm long with a 20mm diameter. This isn’t exactly small, but the weight of the piece merely adds to the sensation of quality when holding the device. The casing has a Blu-ray logo which exudes class. But the best part about this product is the fact that it is a Class IIIb laser. Direct exposure to the eye for as little as 100th of a second could cause permanent damage. Lets hope that Wicked Lasers provide protective goggles for all board meetings.
Ultimately useless, but truly awe-inspiring, if you have £1,000 plus VAT to spend on your next impulse-purchase, the Sonar II laser pointer has got to be it.
