BenQ’s new projector range is a business-oriented effort to provide high-quality projected images under high ambient light conditions. The innovative part of this new line-up is the DLP ‘Brilliant Color’ chipset coupled with the ‘UNISHAPE’ technology. When combined, the technologies should provide brighter whites, deeper blacks and richer colour tones that offset the loss of image brightness by altering the intensity of the projector lamp in tandem with the colour wheel. In short, we get a 40 percent increase in image brightness but all the colours we have come to know and love should remain vibrant and true.

The two new models, the ‘SP920′ and ‘SP870′, both offer HD (720p) friendly native XGA (1024 x 768) resolutions and a contrast ratio of 2000:1. In terms of brightness, the SP870 will go to 5000 ANSI lumens while the SP920 will hit 6000 ANSI lumens. Naturally, there are a strong selection of connectivity options, including DVI, HDMI, Component, S-Video and Composite along with a stereo mini jack.
