Glass trackpads to be on new MacBooks?
The rumor mill has been swirling around new MacBooks and MacBook Pro and the accompanying case designs. Today was no different, as a rumor began circulating about the touchpad on the device. Both the regular MacBook and the MacBook Pro will supposedly move to glass-surfaced trackpads that allow multi-touch gestures, although little is known as to whether there will be additional touchpad features.
Regarding the exterior, AppleInsider is reporting that the systems will use completely different cases. Both will use a “completely different” manufacturing process that builds the majority of the system shell with a single piece of aluminum. It is been rumored that the shape of the computer will change, and will offer the Centrino 2 processor. Should the rumored dates be accurate, the system should launch sometime around September.
