Review: New ultra affordable Samsung S2 ‘Pebble’ MP3 media player and flash storage device
Making a splash last night in Manhattan, Samsung’s Pebble S2 MP3 player is one of the coolest gifts we have received in quite some time.
The S2 serves two purposes: one as a portable MP3 player and the other as a flash storage device. The Pebble offers 1GB of internal storage, holding up to 16 hours of audio, and supports MP3, WMA, and OGG file playback for music listeners.
On the train ride home from the event I was able to easily pair the S2 up with the provided headphones and sit back and enjoy the music on the ride home. Bass and treble were decent and I really loved the fact that the S3 is so small and compact and can be toted anywhere without weighing me down.
Other features of note include DNSe 2.0 audio support, a hidden LED for battery indication, typical forward/rewind/pause functionality, as well as an audio equalizer. The Li-Poly battery on the S2 offers up to 13 hours of music playback.
About the size of an American half dollar, the tiny Samsung S2 can be slid easily into a jacket or pants pocket for on-the-go use. The S2 Pebble is available now for US$40.
