Unboxing the LG Dare for Verizon Wireless
With the touchscreen craze sweeping consumers and manufacturers alike, we were excited to test out the LG Dare when it showed up at our doorstep. After unboxing the phone, we found that we liked the way it felt; it was a manageable size and was very comfortable in the hand. It is a touchscreen phone offering haptic (vibration) feedback with each motion, which we liked. As we were using it, we realized that a firm press was needed each time we touched the screen - no ‘flicking’ or quick movements, like other touchscreen devices.
In initial testing, audio quality was good, however reception seemed to be middle of the road; certainly not the best in Verizon’s current lineup. We also preferred the web browsing capabilities of the iPhone. When we brought up the New Jersey train schedule, it took double the amount of time versus the iPhone. This is as a result of the iPhone being a capacitive phone, while the Dare is resistive.
Look for a review to come soon, however in the meantime, check out our gallery below!
