Garmin shows new portable GPS, nuvi 500 series
Garmin announced its newest GPS navigation series, the nuvi 500. Perfect for the outdoorsman, the rugged new system features the latest mapping features including NavTeq mapping for outdoor data such as boating or cycling.
The nuvi 500 sports a large 3.5-inch color touchscreen display that is waterproof and comes with features such as detailed mapping with geo-located images and integrated Wherigo to offer fun for the whole family. To make navigation simpler, the new device offers voice-prompted turn by turn navigation and comes preloaded with country-specific map data.
The Garmin nuvi 500 and 550 offer 8 hours of battery life and are expected to be available in Q3 of this year. For more information, visit http://www.garmin.com.
