Microsoft sells 180 million copies of Vista in 18 months
Although there are still people longing for the warm embrace of Windows XP, its younger brother Vista apparently has a following. Microsoft this afternoon as part of its quarterly results said that Vista has sold 180 million copies in the 18 months since its release in January of 2007.
According to the numbers, Windows Vista has had a small but noticeable surge in the past two months. Though the numbers average 10 million downloads per month, Microsoft in May said that 140 million copies were purchased, making that number rise to 20 million for June and July purchases to total 180 million.
