BlackBerry Bold 9000 gets reviewed, priced
Over at The Boy Genius Report, the boys managed to get themselves RIM’s first 3G BlackBerry, the Bold, for a hands-on review. The new HSDPA and WiFi enabled messaging device sports a half-VGA (480×320 pixel) display as well as GPS, 1GB of onboard memory, a microSD expansion slot, stereo Bluetooth, and trackball nav. How does this new 3G QWERTY smartphone handle day to day life? Seemingly quite well minus a few snafus that required an OS update, which seemed to remedy most of its issues. Notable changes and updates included of course speedy HSDPA connectivity, an updated BlackBerry Messenger, and improved web browsing. One major niggle in the review was the display screen was prone to scratches galore. For the full review on the BlackBerry Bold, jump on over to BGR.
With no commitment here in the States, it seems our friends across the European pond have decided to gobble up the new BlackBerry Bold, and are expecting a launch the messaging smartphone as soon as this month. T-Mobile Germany is reported as the winner to bring the Bold to the masses and reports are revealing the device will retail for EUR219.95 (US$348) along with T-Mo’s Max S plan.
