Apple iPhone 3G sold out in 21 states in the U.S.

iphone 3gStill searching for the iPhone 3G? With a little luck and help from Apple’s iPhone availability widget, you may still be able to find one of these rare gems.

Jim Neal, a retired Kansas City man, took some time out of his day to do some searching and as of 6am EDT today, all three of the iPhone models were sold out in 21 states.

At press time, states indicating no iPhone stock include Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.

According to Apple, consumers should check availability after 9pm so stores can update their databases.
