Google remote log-off for forgetful GMail users
Google’s web-based email application, GMail, now provides a reminder to users that forget to log-off when using the popular online client. For folks that use the GMail client at work, at school, or at a friend’s house, now will receive a courtesy notification letting them know they are still logged in with an active session at another location. The new notification will be located at the bottom of the GMail inbox and will be rolled out in waves to users.
Although in no way is this going to prevent identity thefts, it may help in reminding users of active sessions still open on public computers.
