Microsoft to launch Windows Vista ad campaign to improve image
Although many Windows Vista opponents would disagree, Microsoft believes that the problem with its latest operating system has one huge hurdle to overcome: negative PR. The company is expected to launch a multi-million dollar ad campaign to counteract the positive growth for Apple as a result of the “Get A Mac” advertisements; according to an insider, the Mac commercials have “caused some impact.”
The advertising push comes in light of comments from Brad Brooks, the VP of Windows Vista consumer marketing. ”We broke a lot of things. We know that, and we know it caused you a lot of pain.” As a result, the tag-line to promote the latest Microsoft OS will be “Free The People.” When asked about the Apple marketing campaign, Brooks responded with: “We’ve got a pretty noisy competitor out there. You know it. I know it. It’s caused some impact. We’re going to start countering it”.
