.Mac to be replaced by MobileMe on July 10
It’s official: Apple will replace its aging .Mac service with MobileMe at midnight on July 10 (Pacific time), after a six hour downtime beginning at 6 PM the prior day. Notifications have been sent to users, and state that they will lose almost all of their operations, although they still will be able to check their e-mail through an iPhone/iPod touch, or a desktop application.
The application, launching ahead of the 3G iPhone, is set to help Apple cater to the business market with Push syncing and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 support.
