Kodak intros the KAF-50100, a 50 megapixel CCD sensor
Eastman Kodak today announced a history maker, a 50 million pixel CCD image sensor. Designed specifically for the professional photographers, the new sensor would theoretically allow users to detect an object the size of a nickel in an overhead photo of a football field.
The new Kodak 50 megapixel sensor uses the company’s TRUESENSE 6.0 micron Full Frame CCD technology platform to increase camera peformance and resolution and offers a 8176 x 6123 pixel resolution. The KAF-50100 sensor from Kodak is expected to be available in Q4 of this year.
