Canon’s entry level EOS Rebel XS, 1000D DSLR gets official with pricing

Canon’s latest 10-megapixel digital SLR, the EOS Rebel XS (1000D) has officially been announced in the U.S. and is expected to hit the market next month. The new entry level shooter offers a large 2.5-inch LCD screen for viewing photos and also features Canon’s DIGIC III image processor, 10-megapixel CMOS sensor, 7 point wide-area autofocus, Live View, and comes with an image stabilization 18-55mm, f/3.5-5.6 EF-S lens kit.
The Canon EOS 1000D, Rebel XS is expected to hit store shelves in August for US$700.
