So this is a new one. We may have the solution for all of you who have been stuck with a dead mobile phone battery, away from the mains, just when you needed it the most. A British company running by the name of ‘Juicebar’ has developed a completely flat and disposable phone charger, primarily designed for emergencies. When your phone needs a top up, just plug it in to the appropriate Juicebar and once you’re done, dispose of it. Easy! There is no need to be near an electrical source. Each ‘Bar’ will power a phone for up to 480 minutes of standby, or around 60 minutes of talk time depending on the device in question.

Juicebars will last for up to 5 years without losing its charge, which makes them perfect for the second home or a camping lodge. The most important part of this concept is the fact the product is inexpensive, costing only £2.99 or less than $6. Even with the lousy exchange rate the cost to (potential) benefit ratio is still tremendous.

A good proportion of the phone market is already accounted for, since the Juicebar is compatible with Blackberry, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony devices. LG is coming soon. If you fancy stocking up on Juicebars, they are available now directly from the company’s website and come with a full 5 year warranty.
