Rumored ‘Minority Report’ style interface coming soon?
Has anyone here dreamed of the day when we can all have work stations like Tom Cruise in Minority Report? We thought so. Now if you had to pick one global computing company to try something this crazy-cool, who would you pick? Well, we’ll tell you; according to rumors emanating from Kotaku, Microsoft has stepped up to the challenge and has the Xbox in mind. Although perhaps not the most well known computer company for its intuitive user interfaces, Microsoft is certainly capable, at least financially, to pull this off.
The technology to support this initiative will be that of a motion sensitive controller which will work similar to that shown in Minority report (thus the picture). The Dashboard is alleged to consist of a semi-3D environment with sliding menus and what not - awesome. It is also reported that it will build on the existing interface, rather than completely redesign it. Although this seems somewhat farfetched, at least to us skeptics here at DigitalBurn, confirmation of this rumor is likely to take place probably at E3, so watch out.
