Nextel planning to launch BlackBerry 8350?

We all heard from Dan Hesse at the beginning of the year that Sprint would launch a new BlackBerry on the Nextel side by the end of the year. Engadget Mobile is reporting that the new device will be an iDEN variant of the Curve (8350), and is on track to arrive in late 2008 or early 2009.

Of primary concern is the age of the BlackBerry Curve at launch; the product will be launching during the hype of the BlackBerry Bold and Thunder, on AT&T and Verizon, respectively. Although, we’re pretty sure that iDEN subscribers will be pleased just to have a new BlackBerry.
