Lenovo has launched its first consumer desktop for the U.S. market, the IdeaCentre K210. The new PC is the company’s first desktop to be available outside of China and follows on the heels of the company’s announcement of its IdeaPad line of notebooks.

Designed for novices, the new K210 offers face recognition technology to be used as your password and Bright Vision technology, which detects a user’s distance and adjusts the screen accordingly.

The new Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 offers an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, 3GB of RAM, GMA X3100 integrated graphics, hi-def audio, and optional Blu-ray, HD-DVD, and ATI Radeon 2600 XT upgrades.

Some other features include an anti-microbial keyboard, a single touch recovery menu to help users recover easily from system crashes, and tool-free ‘easy open’ casing for easy expansion and modification.

Lenovo’s IdeaCentre K210 is available now at Lenovo’s online store and in select retail stores for US$379, after a mail-in rebate. Lenovo is offering two monitor options to go with the K210 desktop - the L222W, a 22-inch for US$299, and the L195W, a 19-inch for US$229, both prices are after mail-in rebates.
