Rhapsody launches DRM-free music store, offers free tracks

RhapsodyRhapsody today launched a DRM-free music store, and is offering 100,000 free tracks. Offering a catalog of over 5 million songs, the new service allows customers to access their library for $.99/song or $9.99/album. As an incentive to sign off, Rhapsody is offering a free album to the first 100,000 people to sign up for the service.

The store will be available to Verizon customers via a special portal. Though it isn’t quite as cheap as Amazon’s $.89/song store, it will certainly be worth a look.
