Have phone, will travel to MetroPCS for a free month of service

metropcsCustomers that have an existing CDMA handset laying around - umm, Helio customers pay special attention - can now swing by any MetroPCS store and get their handset activated with one month of free service.

The new service plan called MetroFlash allows customers to bring in a compatible CDMA-enabled handset without the cost of having to buy a new phone,  and the company will reward them with one month of free service.

“Offering consumers the ability to join MetroPCS with their existing handset makes switching carriers easier — and more cost efficient — than ever,” said Tom Keys, Chief Operating Officer of MetroPCS.

The MetroFlash program offers unlimited local and long distance, voicemail, and text messaging for $40 plus a $30 activation fee.
