Upcoming BlackBerry Bold not delayed as originally reported
At a Wednesday press event, Research In Motion representative Erik Van Drunen criticized what he called “rumors from bloggers” claiming that the BlackBerry Bold had been postponed. The device was initially rumored to be suffering from battery life issues, software problems, and overheating.
Van Drunen claimed that when the phone was originally announced by the company, RIM only set a “summer” release date, and so any specific dates were purely speculative. “We didn’t say anything about ‘July’ or ‘August,’” he stated. “It will become available in August. So we’re still on track for this summer.”
