American Airlines to test in-flight Wi-Fi

AA logoPassengers flying from JFK Airport to Los Angeles will receive a special treat: in-flight Wi-Fi, courtesy of American Airlines and their pilot (no pun intended) Wi-Fi program.  The test flight is intended to be a soft launch, with a full-scale launch coming shortly.  The company intends to launch the service on its 15 Boeing 767-200’s, which cater to longer flights, such as New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.

According to the report, the onboard systems have 800 GB of capacity for future expansion, and power outlets will be scattered all around coach, with a power plug per seat in business and first class.
