New Lenovo ThinkPad SL-series leaked
After an error in a presentation, Lenovo has admitted to the existence of a new Thinkpad, the SL-series. The notebooks will cater to Lenovo’s prime small and medium business market, and will be priced between $699 and $1,199. More importantly, in a first for the company, the computers will offer online backup services as a standard.
The target market will be companies with 99 or less employees - those that don’t have dedicated technical support teams. The computers will include LoJack technology to track the laptops should they be stolen. In a bit of a twist from traditional ThinkPad models, the SL-series will lack the standard proprietary docking station connector and will instead be marketed with a generic USB-based port replicator.
Specifications can not be confirmed at this time, but reports have indicated Core 2 Duo processors, and screens ranging from 13.3-inches to 15.4-inches.
