Microsoft re-updates security patch for XP and Vista

windowslogoAfter releasing a new security patch for XP and Vista on June 10, Microsoft has had to come back and fix some identified security flaws in the update. The original patch addressed a remote code execution vulnerability in XP and Vista. The update fixed the issue in Vista but not in XP.

“As soon as we learned of that possibility, we mobilised our Software Security Incident Response Process (SSIRP) to investigate the issue”, said Microsoft security and response communications lead Christopher Budd.
