Google slows its roll with Android-powered mobile phones
Internet giant Google has stated that its Android mobile handsets are being delayed, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sources are saying that the new Android handsets are being pushed back until the fourth quarter of this year. Originally, the company had planned on bringing the new Android phones to market in the second half of this year but, due to some carrier issues, the dates have been moved out.
Google and its 30 partners, which include Sprint, Samsung, HTC, China Mobile and others, are having difficulties with the new platform. Wireless carriers are reporting struggles with Internet services and handset manufacturers are having troubles integrating the new software into their handsets.
Google announced the new Android platform for mobile devices that includes an open-source operating system and suite of applications based on Linux that is royalty free.
