Sprint offers new ‘Mobile E-Mail Work’ application for its phones

Sprint logo 2On the eve of the Samsung Instinct launch, Sprint’s wireless customers will soon be able to use select wireless phones for mobile access to their corporate e-mail accounts.  The service will offer access to Microsoft Exchange as well as IBM Lotus Notes, and will fit into Sprint’s current portfolio of offering personal, web based e-mail access.  The service will allow non-PDA users to access their corporate e-mail accounts without the need to purchase a more expensive phone.

Sprint Mobile Email Work will allow customers to read and respond to their business email and look up work contacts from a wider variety of Sprint phones, including the new Instinct, said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president of product and technology development for Sprint.

The service is included in the Everything plans beginning at $69.99, and any of the Sprint data plans.  The service is otherwise available for an additional $9.99/month.  The service will come pre-installed on the instinct, and will be available on 11 other phones via software update.
