iTunes logoWhen analyzing total sales across the world, Apple’s iTunes store reached its five billionth music purchase, according to the company. Since its initial launch in 2003, the music library has expanded to eight million tracks from major and independent music labels.  Additionally, the store is offered in two dozen countries, ranging from North America to Japan and the UK.

In a follow-up to the launch of its movie rental service, the company stated that it is renting 50,000 movies per day out of 2,000 titles.  While the service has received a warm approval, the company is still working to obtain more HD movie titles - currently, the library has just 350 product offerings.
