Spread the word: Mozilla Firefox 3 available on Tuesday
For those of you following the chronicles of Mozilla’s Firefox and its updates, here is the latest chapter: On June 17 Firefox 3 will get its official full release.
Mozilla’s Firefox web browser has gone through numerous betas and release candidates and is now ready for primetime. “After more than 34 months of active development, and with the contributions of thousands, we’re proud to announce that we’re ready. It is our expectation to ship Firefox 3 this upcoming Tuesday, 17 June. Put on your party hats and get ready to download Firefox 3 — the best web browser, period.”
Firefox 3 is expected to provide new enhancements to its bookmarking application, which will let users add keywords or tags to sort bookmarks. Other features include the ability to resume a download if it becomes interrupted, a new “Places” section to allow users quick access to recently bookmarked or tagged web pages, and a new star button feature for adding websites to your bookmarks.
Mozilla is hoping to set a Guinness World Record for the number of downloads it receives on June 17. If you would like to be part of the gang doing so, sign up here to spread the Firefox 3 love.
