New version of Google Trends goes live

Google TrendsAs reported by Pocket-Lint, Google has officially updated their Trends application, software that allows users to see how popular certain search terms are across geographic regions, cities, and languages.  Some of the new features include:

  • A tool that allows users to take the data off of the graphs and download them onto a spreadsheet
  • The service also now offers “scaled” figures, allowing for a better estimation of traffic
  • A new drop down menu allows the user to change the search terms, thus changing the data
  • The user can now easily export data to a .csv file for later analysis; the user can select “relative” scaling or “fixed scaling” (scaled to a particular time range)
