Toshiba releases 1.8-inch, 5400 RPM 160GB hard drive

While it won’t work in the MacBook Air, Toshiba’s new 160GB hard drive will certainly bode well for the recent trend of ‘netbooks.’ While others have reached the 160GB mark, the new hard drive is the industry’s first 160GB drive spinning at 5400 RPM in a 1.8-inch form factor. Although it will not work in small consumer devices, the drive is a great start at larger hard drives in the newly popular sub-compact laptops.
