JetBlue to purchase Verizon’s Airfone
Airline company JetBlue has announced that it is planning to buy Verizon’s Airfone network to boost its ability to offer email and messaging as part of its suite of in-flight services. JetBlue uses satellite-based LiveTV to provide in-flight entertainment and said it will take over the existing Airfone operations, including 100 communication towers in the U.S.
