Apple launches MobileMe application, replaces .Mac
The folks over at Apple have just introduced a new service that will provide users the ability to have email, contacts, and calendars synced instantly through an over-the-air push system called MobileMe. The new service is set to replace the existing .Mac service.
MobileMe will work natively with a Mac or PC syncing users’ Outlook, Mail.app, or iCal calendars wirelessly with the iPhone. Information can pushed either up or down from an iPhone and accessed anywhere. Photos can also be pushed directly to all devices. There is also a web based application that offers a desktop like experience, including drag and drop and dynamic photo resizing, that users will be able to use to edit their data or share photos.
The new application will be available for US$99/yr with 20GB of storage starting in early July. A free trial will be available.
