Sanyo launched its latest one-handed portable HD camcorder, the Xacti HD1010. The new lightweight (9.9oz) HD1010 offers new ‘Face Chaser’ face detection technology, full high-def 1920×1080 resolution, 7fps sequential still image shooting, and a slow motion video mode.

The compact camcorder features a 4 megapixel still camera, a 10x optical HD zoom, image stabilization, and a large 2.7″ LCD screen that rotates 285 degrees on its axis. The HD1010 has a 1900mAh Li-ion battery and can fit up to 87 minutes of 1080i HD video on an 8GB card. The camcorder records to either standard SD or SDHC memory cards up to 32GB.

The Sanyo Xacti HD1010 camcorder will be available in July for US$800.
