Pentax’s new point and shoot fully waterproof camera, the W60, is making a big splash just in time for the summer vacation season. The 10-megapixel Optio allows users to take photos up to 4m (13 feet) deep underwater and also can be used in sub-freezing temperatures.

The sporty W60 includes shake reduction, advanced face recognition technology, and a 28mm wide angle zoom lens. A 2.5-inch LCD screen sits around back with integrated IPA (In Plane Switching) technology for wide angle viewing. Other features include high-quality movie mode with HD resolution, Smile Capture, Blink Detection, and an anti-reflective coating to reduce screen glare during playback.

The Pentax Optio W60 digital camera comes housed in either a silver or ocean blue casing and will be available beginning next month for US$329.95.
