Apple’s iPhone is turning Japanese
Apple has decided to partner up with mobile carrier Softbank to bring the popular iPhone to Japan, announcing the deal today. The carrier is the third largest carrier in Japan, behind rivals NTT DoCoMo and KDDI, and hopes the introduction of the iPhone will bring lots of new subscribers.
In other iPhone news, Telefonica SA of Spain also announced that it inked a deal with the Cupertino giant to bring the iPhone sometime in 2008.
Both statements gave no indication of availability or pricing.
