Apple Back-to-School promo to offer free 8GB iPod Touch

Apple formally announced its Back-to-School promotion today, which will offer a credit for an 8GB iPod Touch when students buy a qualifying Mac computer. The company will allow customers to apply the US$299 credit towards the higher end models if they so desire.

The promo goes into effect for students that buy a qualifying MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac or Mac Pro.
