Adobe updates Acrobat with some Flash
Adobe Systems has finally updated its Acrobat software, something that has not been done since 2006. What comes with Acrobat 9? The software gods at Adobe have now integrated Flash into the package, allowing users to include Flash-based videos in their documents.
“You can now send someone a presentation that speaks on its own all through a PDF,” said Adobe spokesman Kevin M. Lynch. Adobe also launched a web-based service to support documentation creation and sharing called Acrobat.com.
Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended (Mac OS X and Windows) will be available in July for US$669. A lower end version, Acrobat 9 Standard, is US$299. All versions are available as an upgrade, for a substantial discount.
