MacBooks get the option of SSD hard drives (unofficially)

Expercom now offers a ’solid state drive’ in the MacBook line

For those that don’t like the MacBook Air, but prefer the solid state hard drive option, Expercom may be the next stop on your buying train.  At fairly reasonable prices, the company offers the $1,999 MacBook Pro model with a 120GB SSD for $2649, and the 13″ MacBook will cost $1,649 with an 80GB drive installed.

While the drives can be purchased and installed by the user, the ‘installed’ option represents a $50 premium over the actual drive cost, making the installation well worth it, in our opinion. For an additional fee, Expercom will also transfer your data.
