VIA is now showing a new ultra portable notebook, the OpenBook Mini-Note. Building on the VIA Ultra Mobile platform, which uses the VIA C7-M ULV processor and VX800 IGP chipset, the new notebook offers fast processing, low voltage needs, and a rich featureset.

The OpenBook features a 8.9″ display screen (1024×600 pixel), three USB ports, a VGA port, audio jacks, a card reader, and a 2 megapixel dual-headed web camera. The OpenBooks’ 2600mA Li-ion battery is expected to provide up to 3 hours of battery life. The computer measures 240mm x 175mm x 36mm (9.4″ x 6.9″ x 1.4″) and weighs a little over 2.2 pounds (1kg).

This new ultra portable comes in various OS versions including Vista Basic, XP, and Linux. And when it comes to connectivity, the choice is yours with WiMax and 3G options that include HSDPA and EV-DO both, with additional mobile connectivity being provided by Bluetooth, WiFi, and AGPS.
