Bestlink’s Alpha 400 ultra-mini Linux laptop is ultra-affordable
UMPC’s seem to be popping up everywhere lately and the latest is a new Linux-based ultra-mini PC from Hong Kong that is ultra-affordable at US$250.
Bestlink’s Alpha 400 sports a 7″ 800×480 pixel resolution truecolor display screen, 32-bit XBurst 400MHz CPU, 128MB of RAM, 1-2GB of internal flash, and an ethernet port. Bestlink will sell an optional WiFi adaptor and a GPRS/CDMA modem, but these do not come in the original sales package.
The Alpha 400 can run Linux OS or Windows CE, weighs in at a slight 1.5 pounds, and measures in at 8.3″ x 5.6″ x 1.3″. It comes in six colors and is available now for US$250, or US$180 if sold in quantities of 100 or more.
