AT&T offers free WiFi to 3G customers
AT&T customers that use the wireless company’s LaptopConnect mobile broadband service can now access free AT&T HotSpot WiFi service at over 17,000 locations throughout the country. AT&T HotSpots include participating Starbucks, McDonalds, Barnes and Noble, as well as some airports.
“The combination of the nation’s largest wireless and Wi-Fi networks is unbeatable,” said AT&T’s VP for business and mobility products Michael Woodward, in a statement. “It’s the ultimate in mobility for laptops—AT&T’s wireless network plus more than 17,000 Wi-Fi locations.”
The offer is valid only for mobile data plans that cost US$60 or more, and the free service is only for Windows-based devices at this time.
